We are offering an exciting opportunitie to join our team looking forward as a pre-treatment radiographer in our radiotherapy department at Velindre Cancer Services. The position is based at Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff, with rotations to the Velindre Radiotherapy Unit in the Nevill Hall, Abergavenny.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Interviews for this clinical role are to be based on site, in person only
To work in the pre-treatment areas carrying out accurate and consistent highly specialist imaging, virtual simulation and treatment techniques.
To help organise the work load in the various functions of the area and take responsibility for training and supervising more junior radiographers and students.
To deputise in the role of team leader in the absence of the Band 7 radiographer, as required.
To be part of a large multi-disciplinary team and to be involved in the total care of patients undergoing pre-treatment planning including treatment dose calculation.
Responsible for correct use of computer software to generate treatment plans.
Undertake cannulation in order to administer contrast.
To work flexibly according to the demands of the Service, including weekends and across more than one site.
To participate in on-call and other weekend working as required.
