Full job description

Overview
To provide support and assistance to young persons living in supported accommodation, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and Assistance:
Provide day-to-day support to young persons, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
Support young persons in setting and achieving personal goals, such as employment, education, and social integration.
Offer emotional support and encouragement, promoting a positive and empowering environment.
Case Management:
Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with young persons, their families, and other professionals.
Monitor and review progress regularly, adjusting support plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Health and Safety:
Ensure a safe and healthy living environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and protocols.
Administer medication as required, and monitor young persons for any changes in health or well-being.
Address and report any concerns or incidents in accordance with organizational policies.
Community Engagement:
Facilitate and encourage young persons' participation in community activities and local events.
Build and maintain positive relationships with local community organizations and service providers.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided, incidents, and progress towards goals.
Prepare and submit reports as required by the organization and relevant regulatory bodies.
Training and Development:
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of support services.

Qualifications:

Education:
Relevant qualifications in social care, mental health, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, Diploma in Health and Social Care).
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar support role, preferably in a supported accommodation setting.
Experience working with young persons with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, mental health issues, or other challenges.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young persons.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Personal Attributes:
Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of young persons.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Pay: £750.00-£850.00 per week
