Full job description

Mactech require a Plating Superintendent to join a team working on the prefabrication, installation, and erection of piping systems on the mechanical scope at Hinkley Point C.

The Plating Superintendent will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all support erection activities within the Turbine Hall area. This includes steel supports, piping supports, equipment supports, structural attachments, and associated plate work activities while ensuring compliance with project quality, safety, schedule, and nuclear standards.

Suitable candidates must have:

Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar role

Level 3 Apprenticeship/Diploma in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork, Shipbuilding or Metalworking

SMSTS OR IOSH Managing Safely

CCNSG Safety Passport

Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit OR Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS)

Working Arrangements:

10/4 rotation

Days: 9 x 10-hour shifts (Tuesday to Wednesday) & 1 x 6-hour shift every second Thursday

PAYE Rates:

Basic: £35.81

OT1: £50.13

OT2: £64.46

Bonus Potential (up to): £5.37 p/hr

Additional Payments and Holidays

Lodge: £53.39 p/night / £373.73 p/week – if eligible

Travel: Return Fare & Travel Time each month – if eligible

Holidays: 190 hours per annum + Public/Bank

Please note that rate will increase after successful completion of 3 months probationary period:

PAYE Rates after 3 Months

Basic: £37.43

OT1: £52.40

OT2: £67.37

Bonus Potential (up to): £5.61 p/hr

Expected start will be mid-September, subject to vetting and onboarding.
