Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our manufacturing team in Barton-upon-humber. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and work with various tools and materials. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to precision metalwork projects, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout production processes. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their expertise within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications related to sheet metal fabrication.
Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques to assemble and repair metal components accurately.
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication tasks.
Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts according to project requirements.
Operate fabrication machinery and assist with the setup of equipment for various tasks.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

Requirements

Proven experience in welding, or similar techniques.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment used in sheet metal fabrication.
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes.
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
Experience with assembly processes related to sheet metal components.
Knowledge of health and safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Previous experience working with sheet metal, fabrication, or mechanical assembly is desirable but not essential. This role provides a valuable opportunity for individuals passionate about metalwork and fabrication to enhance their skills within a professional setting.

Pay: £20.00-£26.98 per hour
