About the Role Fix Auto North Brighton (a franchise of Fix Auto UK) is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous MET Technician / QC to join our team in Burgess Hill. This is a crucial dual-functioning role designed for a senior technician who has an exceptional eye for detail and takes immense pride in the standard of vehicle repairs.
In this role, you will carry out high-quality MET duties while acting as the final line of defence for quality assurance in the workshop. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring every vehicle meets safety standards, driving workshop excellence, and ensuring we deliver an unrivaled customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET): Efficiently dismantle damaged vehicles ahead of body and paint repairs and meticulously reassemble them to pre-accident condition.
- Mechanical & Diagnostics: Remove, repair, or replace mechanical and electrical systems, suspension components, and non-structural body panels. Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to identify faults, interrogate on-board computers, and calibrate ADAS systems.
- Quality Control (QC) Sign-Off: Conduct rigorous, detailed quality control inspections on all completed vehicles across the workshop, ensuring paint, alignment, and finish meet flawless standards before hand-over.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow technical repair manuals stringently, ensuring every vehicle meets roadworthiness, manufacturer safety guidelines, and insurer standards.
- Customer Experience & Liaison: Act as a technical bridge between the workshop and front-of-house, ensuring clear communication regarding repair quality and timelines to uphold our commitment to unrivaled customer service.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience as an MET Technician, ideally with an ATA or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent portfolio of experience).
- Quality Control Mindset: Previous experience in a dedicated QC role, or a senior technician with a reputation for flawless work and a commitment to high safety standards.
- Technical Savvy: Strong knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostic tools, hybrid/electric vehicle systems (EV awareness is a bonus), and ADAS calibration.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision, strong communication skills, and a process-driven mindset.
What We Offer
- Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 (Dependent on experience)
