Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Minimum 6 Months NHS Experience Required
We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to join our dedicated NHS team. About the Role
As an RMN, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and recovery-focused mental health care within an NHS setting. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with a wide range of mental health conditions while ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering person-centred, evidence-based mental health nursing care.
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing individualised care plans.
- Administering and managing medication in accordance with NMC guidelines and Trust policies.
- Assessing, managing, and reducing clinical risks to ensure patient safety.
- Building therapeutic relationships that promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential patient records using electronic patient record systems.
- Participating in safeguarding procedures, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting students, junior staff, and healthcare support workers where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- A minimum of six months' post-registration NHS experience as an RMN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A sound understanding of mental health legislation, safeguarding, and risk management.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays where required.
Desirable
- Experience working within acute inpatient, PICU, community, forensic, CAMHS, rehabilitation, crisis, or older adult mental health services.
- Knowledge of electronic patient record systems.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
