Communications and Marketing Assistant (Fixed-Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed-term for 9 Months, 35 hours per week

We're looking for an enthusiastic Communications and Marketing Assistant to join our busy Communications Team on a fixed-term basis.
Whether you're a recent graduate or have gained some practical marketing experience, this is an exciting opportunity to build your career in a varied, hands-on role where you'll make a real impact from day one.
As part of a small supportive team, your role will be varied, covering a variety of activities. One day you could be creating social media content, the next updating our website, supporting a member campaign, helping with an event, writing a press release or contributing to one of our organisation-wide projects.

About Us
The National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) is the UK's only trade association dedicated to supporting postmasters. We provide advice, representation and practical support to members across the UK, while promoting and protecting the interests of the postmaster network.
Our Communications Team plays a vital role in ensuring members receive timely, engaging and relevant communications, while supporting wider organisational projects and helping to grow our membership.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll support the Communications Team across a wide range of activities, including:
- Creating engaging content for digital and printed communications.
- Managing and scheduling social media content.
- Supporting email marketing campaigns and member communications.
- Updating website content.
- Assisting with PR activity and media communications.
- Supporting events, campaigns and organisational projects.
- Helping develop resources and marketing materials.
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to deliver effective communications.
- Supporting campaigns designed to attract new members and engage existing ones.
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to develop experience across almost every area of communications and marketing.
About You

What You'll Need
Essential
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related subject, or a CIM qualification (or working towards one).
- A good understanding of marketing across digital, traditional and PR channels.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
It Would Be Great If You Also Had
- Some practical marketing or communications experience through work, internships, volunteering or university projects.
- Experience creating content for websites and social media.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar software.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, website CMS or CRM systems.
- An interest in AI tools and emerging marketing technology.

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
