We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at New Priory Vets on a full-time permanent basis.
Our Brighton Clinic is based within our flagship hospital in central Brighton. The clinic provides a comprehensive range of general practice veterinary services including medicine, surgery, radiography, ultrasound and dentistry along with the support of nursing clinics – all bolstered by excellent hospital facilities. Patients of our Brighton Clinic can also benefit from the on-site support of Brighton Veterinary Referrals if additional expertise is required. Our beautiful Peacehaven Clinic delivers advanced general practice services to clients on the coast but clients also benefit from the skill sets and facilities available at the Brighton hospital if required.
Beech House is a small, first opinion practice in Preston Park, offering general practice to our clients and referral to the Brighton hospital if required.
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.
You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week with weekend work on rotation. The main place of work will be New Priory Brighton, with cover at Beech House or Peacehaven for annual leave and sickness.
Key Responsibilities
- To be the first line of contact for clients and their pets within our practices and via telephone
- Triage emergencies and provide advice
- Relay all messages accurately and act in a timely manner
- Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Welcome and register clients on arrival and make appointments
- Dispense medicines as directed by our vets
- Take payments and cash up
- Social media content management
- Complete referrals and other administration tasks
