The Opportunity
This opportunity is available on a full time basis in our Bristol office. However, we are open to discussing providing flexible working patterns for the right person and would also consider someone joining us in our expanding London office, with regular travel to our Bristol HQ.
In role, you will take a leading role in providing our national and international clients with strategic and pragmatic advice. You will support in building and deepening trusted client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of our IP Practice.
This demanding but exciting role involves working with our close-knit team of contentious and non-contentious IP lawyers and being responsible for advising our client roster of global brands on all aspects of trade mark clearance, protection, enforcement, and strategy.
Other regular responsibilities and duties may include:
- Working with the IP team to manage global trade mark and design filings and contentious proceedings at registry level.
- Devising and advising on worldwide IP filing strategies; liaising with local counsel worldwide.
- Clearance advice.
You'll work closely with colleagues across our IP and wider commercial practices, contributing your expertise to joined-up client advice and playing an active role in the continued development of the team.
Requirements
- You must be a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with at least 5 years' post qualification experience.
- You should be able to work well as part of a team, with good client care skills. Experience of leading and supporting more junior colleagues is also desirable.
- You should be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding.
- If working remotely, you should be comfortable working independently, with remote supervision as needed.
