Role Purpose
4R supplies and operates lime mixing plants for numerous water companies throughout the UK. Based at West Huntspill, we are looking to recruit a Loader & Plant Operator to operate and maintain one of these lime mixing plants.
You will need to operate a telehandler to load biosolids (sewage cake) into the mixing plant and ensure this is kept operational throughout the day. This weekend role covers Saturdays and Sundays, with the mixing plant operating for 11 hours per day.
The role can be physical with hands on problem solving required should any issues with the telehandler or mixing kit arise.
Main Duties and Responsibilities – What you need to do.
- Operating the onsite telehandler to load the mixing plant
- Ensure the lime mixing plant is kept operational throughout the day
- Carry out daily inspections, maintenance & servicing of telehandler & mixing plant
- Maintain detailed record keeping and site diary
- Keeping the operational area clean and tidy
- Occasional loading of collection lorries
- Ensuring all activities comply with applicable regulations, defined Health & Safety standards, 4R Quality Management Systems, ISO and BAS accreditations

Personal Specification – What you should have.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge
- Telehandler ticket
- CSCS Card
- Basic knowledge of machinery and kit
- Basic understanding of the waste regulatory environment in the UK
- IT: user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and used to mobile/flexible working environment
Skills / Competencies
- Communication – verbal and written skills
- Reliable & dependable (will be self-managing most days)
- Have attention to detail – record keeping and monitoring mixing process
- Good planning, organising and time management skills
- Full clean driving licence & Right to Work in UK.
