We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Structural and Geotechnical -Civils River Infrastructure team based in Bristol.
Location: Bristol
Hours: 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: Starting form £45,000 per annum

You'll join Kier Design, our 700-strong internal consultancy, delivering civil infrastructure engineering services across a growing portfolio of river and environmental projects.
This role focuses on leading technical delivery, supporting project performance, and ensuring designs meet both client expectations and regulatory requirements, including CDM and Kier standards.

- A Civil Engineer with experience in river engineering or hydraulic structures?
- Chartered or Incorporated (e.g. CEng MICE) or working towards it?
- Confident leading design delivery and coordinating multidisciplinary teams?
- Comfortable managing technical risk and making sound engineering decisions?
- Keen to work on infrastructure projects for clients like the Environment Agency and Severn Trent?

What will you be responsible for?
As an Senior Engineer, you'll support the delivery of schemes within the Kier Design team, including:
- Lead civil infrastructure design delivery, ensuring safe, compliant and buildable solutions
- Review and challenge technical requirements, driving quality and clarity
- Manage and coordinate design team workload and outputs
- Ensure compliance with standards, legislation and Kier procedures (CDM, SHEMS, QMS)
- Monitor programme, budget and project performance
- Deliver value engineering and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes
What are we looking for?
- This role of Design Engineer is great for you if you:
- Minimum 5 years' postgraduate experience in river engineering, hydraulic structures or similar
- Experience delivering design across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong technical judgement and ability to manage uncertainty
- Chartered/Incorporated status (or working towards)
- Full UK driving licence
