Full job description

GAC UK employs a team of over 350 specialists spread across 25+ branches throughout the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar. Our focus is on providing integrated shipping, logistics and marine solutions to diverse industries, from offshore oil & gas and renewable energy to every aspect of the shipping sector, from cruise liners and superyachts to tankers and dry bulk vessels. Additionally, our teams dedicated to marine leisure, sports, events, automotive, and aviation sectors offer specialised services tailored to these niche markets. The highest standards of customer service, operational excellence and delivery are central to everything we do.

GAC is currently recruiting for a fulltime Jetty & Terminal Operator based in Bristol to cover Bristol and surrounding sites.

A brief summary of the requirements for the role are as follows :-

Maintain high standards of quality, safety, security, health & environmental protection. Follow company & client procedures & report all hazards, incidents & safety concerns.
Ensure vessels are correctly moored and aligned with shore loading arms and connections.
Ensure safe access via properly rigged gangways. Monitor this throughout operations
Connect and disconnect loading arms and spool pieces.
Operate valves to direct product through the correct pipeline into shore tanks.
Complete Ship Shore Checklists and carry out regular checks in line with ISGOTT to ensure safe discharge.
Monitor for leaks and adjust connections as required.
Carry out shore tank dipping.
Take samples from ships, cargo lines, shore tanks, and truck bays. Test in line with customer requirements.
Perform line displacements, stripping operations, and pigging operations.
Accurately record all activities and findings during the shift.
Working hours vary depending on shipping and tidal conditions.

The ideal candidates will have:

Strong communication skills
Good understanding and appreciation of a proactive safety culture
Marine or terminal experience desired but not necessary as all full training will be provided
Full clean driving license with own transport available
Willingness to travel between sites (travel costs are covered)
