Full job description

We’re looking for a Head of Communications to join us at Bristol City Women. This role is the Club’s senior external and internal communications and media relations lead. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role manages all press relations, shapes the external narrative, handles crisis communications, and coordinates matchday media operations.

This role works closely with Marketing and Commercial, ensuring a communications lens across the areas owned by Marketing; social media, content, and fan engagement. The Head of Communications focuses exclusively on external press, strategic communications, website, and the Club’s public-facing narrative - ensuring these receive dedicated focus and a direct senior voice.

The Head of Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and delivering Bristol City Women’s overarching communications strategy, protecting, and enhancing the Club’s reputation, and ensuring a clear and compelling and consistent narrative across all audiences.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Communications will act as a trusted strategic communications advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, providing expert counsel on reputation, media, issues management and organisational positioning.

The role will lead the Club’s approach to corporate communications, while ensuring communications considerations are embedded in strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with other departments, the Head of Communications will ensure the whole Club tells its story with clarity and impact, identifying opportunities to build the profile of the Club, its players, leadership and wider organisation.

Have significant experience in a senior communications, PR or media relations role, ideally within professional sport, entertainment or another high-profile organisation
Love the South West, Bristol and Womens Football
