Solar Roofer, Self-Employed
Location: Bristol, South Wales and South West England

ECH Group Limited is looking for an experienced Solar Roofer to support ongoing solar PV installations across Bristol and the wider lower South West, including Plymouth, Exeter and surrounding areas.
This is a self-employed role suited to someone reliable, safety-conscious and confident working across a range of roof types, bracket systems and solar mounting technologies. The successful candidate MUST be comfortable working from ladders and using safety harnesses where scaffolding is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing solar PV mounting systems across various roof types
- Working with different bracket systems, roof hooks and solar fixing technologies
- Supporting solar PV installation teams on domestic and commercial projects
- Working safely at height, including from ladders and with safety harnesses where required
- Handling and positioning panels, rails, brackets and associated roofing materials
- Supporting with DC cabling where required, with previous experience advantageous
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with site safety requirements
- Liaising professionally with customers, site teams and office support where needed
- Collecting materials from local wholesalers when materials cannot be delivered directly to site
Requirements
- Previous solar roofing experience is essential
- Confident working across a variety of roof types
- Familiar with solar PV mounting systems, bracket systems and associated technologies
- Work at Height certification required
- Public liability insurance must be in place
- Own van required
- Full UK driving licence required
- Confident working from ladders and using safety harnesses where scaffolding is not required
- Experience handling DC cabling is advantageous
- Willing to travel across Bristol, South Wales, Devon, Plymouth, Exeter and the wider lower South West region
- Flexible approach to collecting materials from local wholesalers when required
