Energy Intelligence Associate: Editor Designate

Future Editor / Platform Lead – UK Solar, Battery Storage & Flexibility Markets
Bath / Bristol / Remote Hybrid
Starting project-based → pathway to permanent leadership role after probation

We are building something ambitious.
Not another consultancy.
Not another corporate “energy newsletter.”

We are building a next-generation intelligence and media platform covering:

battery storage
solar
flexibility markets
VPPs (Virtual Power Plants)
G99/DNO intelligence
installer economics
energy trading
distributed energy infrastructure
the future of the UK grid

The UK energy system is undergoing one of the largest industrial transformations in decades.

This is your chance to get extremely close to it.

About the role

We are looking for an intelligent, curious, AI-native all-rounder to help build an industry intelligence platform under the direction of founder BBN Energy.

Initially, the role is focused on:

helping launch and manage a new industry website
creating social posts and industry commentary
helping produce a weekly installer and battery industry newsletter
researching major developments in UK solar, storage and flexibility markets
tracking DNO/G99 developments
monitoring OEMs, batteries, tariffs and market shifts
creating simple graphics/charts using AI tools
helping shape the tone and direction of the platform

This is not a “marketing assistant” role.

It is much closer to:

junior editor
intelligence analyst
market researcher
startup operator
AI-assisted publisher

You will work directly with the founder and help shape the voice of a growing platform in one of the fastest-moving sectors in the UK economy.

What we are looking for

You do NOT need deep energy industry experience.

But you probably ARE:

obsessed with AI tools and new technology
commercially curious
interested in energy transition, climate, infrastructure or markets
a strong writer
fast-moving and self-starting
good at synthesising information
comfortable using ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity etc
organised and reliable
interested in building something from the ground up

Bonus points if you have experience with:

LinkedIn/X content
newsletters
Substack/Ghost/Webflow/WordPress
Canva/Figma
journalism
economics
energy/climate policy
engineering
data visualisation
startup environments

The opportunity

This sector is exploding.

Battery storage, flexible energy systems and AI-driven energy optimisation are becoming one of the most important growth areas in the UK economy.

The successful candidate will get:

direct exposure to founders, investors and major industry players
deep understanding of the UK energy transition
practical AI workflow experience
a visible platform and portfolio of work
rapid responsibility if capable
the opportunity to become Editor / Platform Manager after successful probation

We care far more about intelligence, curiosity and energy than corporate experience.

Initial structure

Flexible/project-based initially
Approx 10–20 hours/week to start
Remote-friendly
Potential pathway to full-time role after 3-month probation
Editorial Head discussions for the right candidate as the platform grows
