Job Title: Junior Firmware Engineer
Location: Cheshire (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Salary: Competitive (DOE)

An innovative engineering organisation is looking to add a Junior Firmware Engineer to its growing development team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop their skills working on embedded firmware for next-generation products within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment. You'll contribute throughout the product development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing and release, while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

About the Role

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for a range of electronic products.
Write embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
Support the design, implementation and debugging of real-time embedded software.
Work closely with electronics and systems engineers throughout the development process.
Support firmware integration, testing and validation activities.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
Learn and develop your understanding of embedded systems, development tools and firmware best practices.

About You

Some commercial, academic or project experience in embedded firmware development.
Good programming skills in C/C++.
Understanding of CAN communication protocols.
Knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded systems architecture.
Familiarity with debugging embedded systems using standard development tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
