Job Title: Performance Management Committee Coordinator
Salary: The starting salary is £83,589, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James’ Park Underground Station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. Contract – Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2027 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance).
THE NATIONAL POLICE CHIEFS’ COUNCIL (NPCC)

Communication – by sharing the collective expertise, views and action of UK police chiefs.
Coordination Committees
There are 13 Committees, they form an integral part of the NPCC and contribute towards the delivery of the NPCC’s Strategic Plan and objectives. Our committee coordinators work closely with NPCC leads, Chief Officers, and a range of partners including the Home Office, College of Policing, National Crime Agency, HMICFRS, and Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) to discuss, review and develop strategies, policies and processes, and ensure effective collaborative working to drive improvements for policing and the public. Each coordinator provides a conduit between their respective Coordination Committees, the Strategic Hub, partners and forces. They support and build consistent working approaches to facilitate key decision-making and coordinate the identification of priorities as well as cross cutting areas to improve national policing performance. The 13 committees are: Finance; Diversity, Equality & Inclusion; Performance Management, Prevention; Criminal Justice; Operations; National Crime; Local Policing; Workforce; Science & Innovation; Digital, Data & Technology; Counter Terrorism; and International.
THE ROLE
The post holder will provide support to the National Police Chiefs’ Council Performance Management Coordination Committee (PMCC) Chair in delivering national coordination of a wide range of portfolios and responsibilities, including chairing of the Performance Management Committee, representing NPCC at a variety of executive and senior level forums and meetings including Police Performance Monitoring Group (PPMG), HMICFRS Technical Advisory Group, Police Performance System Steering Group, and, HMICFRS PEEL External Reference Group.
The post holder will coordinate the national PMCC governance landscape across the range of business, governance and monitoring, technical, security and information practitioners. The role is an integral part of the NPCC Strategic Hub and furthers productive working relationships between Committees, key stakeholders and partners, representing the Committee Chair and NPCC at key meetings when required.
The successful candidate will need to have the following knowledge, experience and skills:
Strong working knowledge of the policing performance management systems, policies and processes.
Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and consider how the police service operates in a broader societal and economic environment.
Ability to communicate with and manage senior and executive level stakeholders and create effective networks both within the organisation and externally.
An ability to gather and understand a variety of complex information and data to produce meaningful reports for meetings and that can influence strategic level decision-making.
Strong experience working in the police performance arena (i.e. Subject Matter Expert).
