This role is a critical part of the UK SHEQ Team, supporting our UK Workdry businesses to develop, implement, and embed a culture of quality, continuous improvement and compliance.
We're looking for an experienced quality professional to lead our UK Quality function during a maternity cover period. Reporting to the UK SHEQ Director, you'll play a key role in shaping our quality strategy, driving continuous improvement, strengthening compliance, and embedding best practice across our Workdry UK businesses.
This is an opportunity to work at a strategic level while remaining close to operations, partnering with senior leaders to improve processes, develop people, and deliver measurable business improvements.
Although this is a fixed-term contract for nine months, you'll be joining the business during an exciting period of development where your expertise will have a genuine impact from day one.
What you'll be doing
As Head of Quality and Continual Improvement, you'll lead the development and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System while ensuring our business meets regulatory, customer and industry requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the UK Quality function, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Maintaining and improving our Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and supporting related standards including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Owning our ISO certification programme, including internal audits, external audits and supplier assessments.
- Developing practical policies, procedures and quality standards that support operational excellence across multiple sites.
- Partnering with operational and functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities and standardise best practice.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives, including Value Creation Projects (VCP), using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- Analysing quality performance, identifying trends and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Supporting compliance with customer frameworks, including AMP, ensuring operational processes meet contractual requirements.
- Producing meaningful performance reporting and presenting progress to the UK SHEQ Director and Senior Leadership Team.
- Acting as a visible champion for quality, supporting teams through change and embedding new ways of working across the business.
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced Quality Manager with a track record of leading teams, influencing stakeholders and delivering lasting business improvements within an operational environment.
You'll also bring:
Essential:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification and ISO 9001 experience.
- Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Extensive and relevant demonstrable experience in a senior Quality role.
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving continuous improvement in operational environments.
- Strong project management and change management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of compliance frameworks in utilities, construction, engineering, or rental sectors.
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel 1 - 2 days per week nationally.
Advantageous:
- Membership of a professional quality body (e.g. CQI/IQA).
- Experience supporting AMP compliance programmes.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, UVDB, and related frameworks.
- Experience in training design and delivery.
