Full job description

Role: Finance Business Partner

Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week, all year round). 8:30–4:30 Mon–Thu, 8:30–4:00 Fri

Salary: NJC points 33-36 £44, 075-£47, 181 (further pay award April 2026)

Location: Trust Offices (Redditch area), with travel to schools as required

Start date: September 2026

Overview

Do you have what we are looking for? Schools are complex organisations and must operate within narrow financial parameters. We need a Finance Business partner to help connect the financial with the human, to support Trust leaders and headteachers in making great decisions to enable high quality provision for pupils. This role offers a blend of technical knowledge being combined with highly effective interpersonal skills, to make a difference.

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the postholder acts as the finance lead for a group of schools, taking ownership of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, and providing clear financial insight and challenge to support effective decision-making.

The role works closely with headteachers, school leaders, and central teams, acting as a key link between finance and operations, and requires travel across local school sites.
