Job description for labourer /grounds worker with digger machinery experience

Job Description: Grounds Worker / Labourer (with Digger Machinery Experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Worker / Labourer with proven experience operating excavation plant machinery to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of grounds maintenance, landscaping, and construction tasks, ensuring outdoor areas are kept safe, tidy, and well-presented.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate machinery safely and efficiently for grounds maintenance and landscaping projects.
Carry out general labouring duties including digging, lifting, site preparation, and moving materials.
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of outdoor features such as paths, fencing, and drainage systems.
Maintain and clean machinery and equipment, reporting any faults or safety concerns.
Support the team with groundskeeping tasks such as tree cutting, grass cutting, strimming, and hedge trimming.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Person Specification:

Experience operating machinery and other grounds maintenance equipment.
Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work outdoors in all weathers.
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid machinery operating certificates or tickets (desirable).
Commitment to health and safety standards.
Driving License (essential)

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work may be required).

Location: Various outdoor sites (based in South Devon)

Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.46-£20.68 per hour
