Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Commis Chef to join our culinary team. This entry-level position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist senior chefs with food preparation and cooking tasks, gaining valuable experience in a busy restaurant setting. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to build a career in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients
Support the kitchen team in cooking and plating dishes according to standards
Maintain high levels of food safety and hygiene throughout all tasks
Help with meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
Follow instructions from senior chefs and kitchen supervisors
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of workstations before, during, and after service
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
Contribute positively to the team environment by demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential
Strong interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
