About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cheese Wrapping Operative to join our team working evenings Monday to Friday.
This hands-on role is responsible for the cutting, wrapping, labelling, handling, and presentation of our cheeses, ensuring every product meets our high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety.
Working within a chilled production environment, you will support the preparation of products for retail, wholesale, storage, and dispatch. The role also includes turning cheeses as part of the maturation process, making it a physically active position.

Cheese Wrapping & Preparation
- Cut, wrap, and label cheeses accurately and consistently to required specifications.
- Prepare products for retail and wholesale customer orders.
- Maintain high presentation and quality standards across all products.
- Support the preparation of products for dispatch and customer deliveries.
- Ensure product traceability and accurate labelling at all times.
Cheese Care & Handling
- Turn cheeses regularly as part of the maturation and quality maintenance process.
- Safely move, handle, and transport cheeses throughout production and storage areas.
- Monitor the condition of cheeses and report any quality concerns.
- Follow correct manual handling procedures when lifting and moving products.
Stock Handling & Storage
- Assist with stock rotation to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
- Store wrapped and unwrapped cheese correctly within chilled storage areas.
- Support the organisation of storage areas to maintain efficiency and traceability.
- Report stock discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns to the Dispatch Manager.
Hygiene, Cleaning & Food Safety
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
- Follow all food safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Clean workstations, tools, and equipment in accordance with cleaning schedules.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements throughout all tasks.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across production and dispatch teams.
- Follow instructions and daily priorities set by the Dispatch Manager.
- Communicate any issues, concerns, or quality matters promptly.
- Support colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Physical Requirements
- This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling.
- Candidates must be comfortable lifting, moving, stacking, and turning cheese throughout the working shift.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a chilled environment.
