Full job description

The opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) to join our in-house machine shop at Geosense.

This role combines low-batch repeat production of core parts with ongoing new product and development work, giving you consistent workflow alongside technical variety.

You’ll be working in a modern, air-conditioned, well-equipped facility, producing precision components used in infrastructure projects worldwide.

Our machine shop

Doosan CNC lathes (Fanuc controls)
Haas Mini Mill
Live tooling capability
Clean, organised, air-conditioned environment
Ongoing investment in machines and tooling

What you’ll actually be doing

Setting and operating CNC lathes
Running jobs from first-off through to low/medium batch production
Producing precision components to tight tolerances
Supporting repeat production of core products
Supporting new product introduction (NPI), prototypes and design changes
Working with engineering to refine methods, tooling and setups
Monitoring tooling and maintaining efficient machining processes
Carrying out in-process inspection and quality checks

What we’re looking for

Essential:

Experience in CNC turning (setting + operating)
Experience with Fanuc controls
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Desirable:

Experience with live tooling
Milling exposure
Experience in a precision engineering environment
