The Garibaldi is an established community pub with an exciting future. We are investing in the business and are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead the venue through its next phase of growth.
This is an opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to take ownership of a business with significant potential, building a reputation for outstanding hospitality, quality food and drink, memorable events and exceptional customer service.
We are seeking someone who is commercially minded, passionate about people and capable of running the pub as if it were their own business.
A well-presented live-in manager's accommodation is included with the role.
The Role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for every aspect of the business, ensuring exceptional operational standards while driving sales, profitability and guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full responsibility for the financial performance of the pub, including sales growth, gross profit, labour costs, stock control, budgeting and delivering agreed profit targets.
- Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing management and front-of-house team.
- Creating an exceptional guest experience that builds loyalty and generates positive reviews.
- Managing all aspects of food, beverage and cellar operations.
- Driving local marketing initiatives, entertainment and community engagement.
- Maintaining excellent standards of compliance, food safety, licensing and health & safety.
- Recruiting, coaching and retaining talented team members.
- Working closely with the Directors to deliver strategic business growth and maximise the pub's potential.
About You
We're looking for a confident and experienced hospitality leader who can demonstrate:
- A minimum of two years' management experience within pubs, gastropubs or hospitality venues.
- A proven track record of increasing sales, profitability and guest satisfaction.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour, stock control and financial performance.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire, develop and retain high-performing teams.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with high personal standards.
- The confidence to make commercial decisions and lead from the front.
Essential Requirements
- A current Personal Licence (essential).
- Previous experience as a General Manager in a quality food and drink operation.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
