Job Summary
Join our landscaping and garden maintenance team as an apprentice. Learn to transform outdoor spaces with paving, fencing, and turfing, while gaining skills in general maintenance tasks like grass cutting, hedge trimming, and more. A hands-on role perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assisting with installation of paving and patios
- Preparing and laying turf or seeding lawns
- Digging, planting and maintaining flower beds
- Assisting to erect fences and gates
- Grass cutting with mowers or strimmers
- Hedge trimming and pruning shrubs
- Weeding and applying mulch
- General garden tidying and waste removal
- Loading/unloading tools and materials
- Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment
- Learning to use landscaping machinery safely
- Supporting qualified landscapers on site
- Following all health & safety procedures
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- 2 other subjects (grade 2-9/E-A*)
- English (grade 2-9/E-A*)
- Maths (grade 2-9/E-A*)

Other requirements
You will be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions. To ensure your application has the best chance of being considered for the vacancy you must provide information on all qualifications undertaken stating highest grades achieved in every subject, paying particular attention to maths and English. Along with this you need to state any previous work experience.
Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
