Working in a team with our Assistant Director of Development Services and Helen Matheson, Head of Capital Projects, the Head of Capital Projects role will play a critical role in lead and manage the delivery of enabling and infrastructure contracts to support the delivery of residential led development projects. You will be joining our enthusiastic and friendly team, who are committed to making positive change in how we deliver our projects.

Job description

This is a rare chance to shape the future of residential infrastructure development in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and professional teams you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective technical advice is provided across a portfolio of development sites.

This role requires significant experience in managing and delivering infrastructure construction engineering solutions and works contracts to support residential development. Experience of designing, planning, commissioning and managing the delivery of enabling and infrastructure works contracts including demolitions, highways, drainage and utilities to unlock residential development sites is essential.

Person specification

You'll be comfortable managing a team responsible for multiple projects with complex technical issues, finding cost effective solutions to unlock and deliver enabling and infrastructure works contracts to facilitate housing led developments.

You will be proficient across a range of issues related to infrastructure and enabling works delivery. You will be experienced in procuring and managing consultants to develop design solutions and cost budgets to inform capital works contracts.

You will have experience in procuring and managing capital works contracts. You will be proficient in the commercial management of projects, with experience in NEC and/or JCT. You will be able to implement a management structure to ensure that cost plans are robust and realistic, risks are identified, managed and mitigated and that contracts are scoped and administered to minimise the risk to Homes England.
