Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring the well-being of clients, and supporting their individual care plans. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing your skills within the healthcare sector.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support clients with mobility and transfer activities, ensuring safety at all times
Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
Monitor and record clients’ health conditions and report any changes to senior staff
Support clients in engaging with social activities and maintaining independence
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with care plans
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Assist with medication administration under supervision where appropriate
Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all clients

Requirements

Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Valid driving licence is preferred to support mobility needs of clients
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when following care plans
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients and colleagues
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if needed
