Maintenance Electrician
Location: MOD Donnington
Salary: £32,000 – £34,500 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our expanding maintenance team supporting MOD Donnington. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated engineer looking for long-term stability, a varied workload, and a professional working environment within secure facilities.
Job Overview
You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair, and minor installation of electrical building service systems across the site. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and breakdown response
- Carrying out electrical remedial works
- Minor installation works and small electrical projects
- Testing and inspection of electrical systems
- Supporting upgrades and modifications to existing installations
- Working collaboratively with the site team to ensure compliance and safe working practices
Systems You Will Work On
- General lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Power distribution and containment systems
- Socket circuits and small power installations
- Distribution boards and protective devices
- Fire alarm interfaces (basic maintenance support)
- Motors, pumps, and plant room electrical equipment
- Associated building services electrical plant
Requirements & Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and competent Electrician with experience in commercial or facilities environments. The ideal candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience in maintenance and fault-finding
- Experience working within commercial or industrial buildings
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- High standards of Health & Safety awareness
- Full UK Driving Licence
2391 Inspection & Testing is beneficial but not essential.
