Drum Tutor / Percussion Tutor (Part-Time)

Poynton Drum School is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and passionate Drum Tutor to join our expanding team from September 2026.
Over the past few years, we have grown to:
- 7 partner schools
- 2 private teaching locations
- Over 200 active students
- A team of 4 dedicated tutors
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an additional tutor to take on existing teaching hours with the opportunity to increase their timetable over time.
Available Teaching Hours
Monday
- Full day teaching drum lessons within a local primary school
- After-school percussion club
Tuesday
- Afternoon teaching paired drum lessons within a local primary school
- After-school percussion club
Additional Opportunities
- Potential private drum teaching from 4:00pm onwards on Mondays and/or Fridays
Pay Rates
- School Drum Lessons: £19.00 per hour
- After-School Percussion Clubs: £20.00 per hour
- Private Drum Lessons: £18.00 per hour
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an enthusiastic and inspiring drum tutor
- Have strong communication skills with children, parents and school staff
- Be confident teaching complete beginners through to more advanced students
- Be reliable, organised and punctual
- Be able to make lessons engaging, enjoyable and educational
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own transport
Requirements
- Previous drum teaching experience is essential
- Public liability insurance
- DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
Location & Travel
This role is based primarily in and around Poynton, Cheshire. Applicants should consider local travel and school-day traffic when applying, as punctuality is essential when working within school timetables.
