Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our Residential Care Home specialising in Mental Health and Clinical Needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that promote mental well-being, social interaction, and overall quality of life for residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring specialised care, including those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The position is paid and requires a caring attitude, organisational skills, and experience in senior or care home settings.

Duties

Plan, organise, and facilitate a variety of stimulating activities tailored to residents’ individual needs and abilities.
Foster social engagement through group events, outings, and personalised programmes.
Support residents in participating in activities that promote cognitive function, physical health, and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ interests and adapt activities accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activity programmes.
Encourage residents’ independence whilst ensuring safety during all activities.
Promote a positive environment that encourages socialisation, inclusion, and mental stimulation.
Assist with organising special events such as birthdays, seasonal celebrations, and themed days.

Experience

Previous experience working within assisted living environments or nursing homes is highly desirable.
Experience in senior care, dementia care or Alzheimer’s care will be advantageous.
Knowledge of caregiving practices within care homes or similar settings is preferred.
Excellent communication skills are essential for engaging with residents, families, and team members effectively.
A caring demeanour combined with organisational skills to plan engaging activities tailored to residents’ needs.
Familiarity with mental health considerations within elderly populations is beneficial but not mandatory.

Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
