We are seeking a skilled and passionate chef de partie/ Jnr sous chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Chef de partie/ Jnr Sous, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and to the highest standard for our guests. We are also looking at possibly implementing a 4 days on 3 days off work week with alternate weekends off to ensure you have a great work life balance.
You will be trained on all sections of the kitchen. Larder/ pastry and the grill. We are a independently owned pub which gives us freedom to regularly change our menus and run daily specials. This will ensure you are learning new styles and techniques to help you develop quickly and continue to learn. Very happy for you to come up with ideas and put your own dishes on the menu once discussed with the head chef. We also do fish nights, fine dining dinners, BBQ nights in which we would also love you to input ideas for these too.
We have continued to gain a loyal local following and continue to get consistent 5 star reviews which is testiment to the quality of food that is produced. We are a very friendly, relaxed, fun loving tight nit team, both kitchen and front of house. This along with a very hardworking & supportive owner will all ensure you very quickly feel one of the team!
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Food preparation, managing your own section and advising head chef of any produce needing to be ordered.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and write own prep lists for the following day
- Participate in training new kitchen staff as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.20-£16.00 per hour
