Full job description

Rex Bakehouse on Ascot High Street is looking for a new Assistant Manager. We have an experienced anchorhead team in place already for our stunning cafe-shop, and need an additional senior staff member to support & sometimes lead the team and busy shifts. We promise you a more welcoming & satisfying job with the personal touch, than you would find in other local shops/ cafes/ bakeries! We work with you to accommodate regular hours/ days of work, and continually review pay. You will be a key player in a fun team of other baristas & bakery assistants and all work together collaboratively.
We are all busy and productive, but we don't take advantage of you. You can talk about any opportunity or anything needed with us.
We train you. We explain what all the breads are & why they are special so that you are able to talk to customers about them. We help you perfect your coffee-making ourselves and with our roasters' expert help.
We have great equipment & train you to use it! La Marzocca coffee machine, excellent grinder, state of the art toastie grill, upgraded dishwashers, hot hold for the customers, working kitchen for brunch etc etc
we invite you to a real coffee whilst working, a toastie on your break if relevant, staff discount for our lovely products and you can take unsold baked products home for free at the end of the day
We support charity - across our bakeries we raise funds for Neuroblastoma, we donate our unsold product each day to the Epilepsy Centre & food shelters, we raised >£1k for Ukraine Unicef by making & selling Ukranian Biscotti.
we don't shout at or abuse people, we respect each other and don't tolerate any -ism's in the bakery. We support each other, and we talk about it and resolve if anything goes wrong.

We want you to grow with us and be with us for the long term, like many of our staff have been. As an Assistant Manager, you will be involved in everything from selling & serving, merchandising, managing stocks & deliveries, presentation of the bakery, waiting tables, of course making coffee, clearing up, closing down, setting up shop, inspiring the team and working with the oversight of the Supervisor and alongside the existing senior team to generally operate the business. Lots of fun responsibility with support & the ears of the owners.
