In partnership with parents and the community, the Governing Body of Newport High School is seeking a visionary and inspirational Head Teacher to lead our happy and vibrant school.

Newport High School is an English-medium, community-maintained school which provides education for children aged between 11 and 18 years and are proud to serve the diverse geographical areas of Bettws, Brynglas, Crindau and Malpas. We are looking for an inspirational Head Teacher who will thrive on the opportunity of being instrumental in the leadership of Newport High School.
Newport High is part of a cluster of highly effective schools, working in partnership with the local authority to drive school improvement and transformational change. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, inspiring and dynamic leader with significant experience of leading transformational change and a proven track record of securing measurable and sustained whole-school improvement, particularly in the area of outstanding teaching and learning. - Has excellent leadership and management experience, with clear evidence of leading significant change and securing measurable, sustained impact at whole-school level and beyond.
- Has significant experience of leading substantial whole-school change, with clear evidence of sustained impact on outcomes, culture and organisational effectiveness.
- Has significant experience of successful day to day management of a school and strategic planning.
- Is highly inclusive and has an excellent track record of effectively supporting all groups of vulnerable learners.
- Is forward thinking, imaginative and visionary, and able to develop an effective learning environment fit for now and in the future.
- Is an excellent team worker, who is able to inspire and work alongside other senior leaders.
- Has an excellent track record of developing leadership at all levels ensuring capacity and succession planning is central to School Development Planning.
- Has proven ability to lead, challenge and empower learners and professional colleagues through effective school self-evaluation and improvement processes, translating identified priorities into successful and sustained change.
- Has resilience, energy, flexibility and enthusiasm.
- Recognises and implements highly effective engagement with our learners parents and carers, working to achieve effective relationships.
- Will work alongside the Governing Body and local authority to ensure there is a two-way flow of open and honest communication and governance.
