About us:
We are looking for a Senior Power BI Analyst in a standalone role with full ownership of the company's reporting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management, maintenance, and development of reporting solutions in Power BI, acting as the primary point of ownership for all reporting-related activities.
A key focus of the role will be supporting the business following the recent implementation of a new ERP system (SAP). As part of this transition, many existing reports require review and redesign. Alongside maintaining and enhancing current reporting, the role will drive the creation of new reports and dashboards, identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and continuously optimise reporting solutions to ensure they remain scalable, accurate, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements across multiple functions
- Facilitate workshops to capture current and future state processes
- Produce clear and structured documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, and process maps
- Ensure alignment between business requirements and delivered solutions
2. Data & Reporting (Power BI)
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports aligned to business requirements
- Build and optimise data models, DAX calculations and performance tuning
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance (including RLS)
- Manage data refresh schedules, gateways, and dataset performance
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights to support decision making
- Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting frameworks
3. Process Improvement & Change Support
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardisation, and data quality
- Support business change initiatives, including system deployments and process changes
- Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials
- Support end users to adopt new systems and ways of working
4. Project & Stakeholder Management
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Operations, Procurement and IT
- Manage own workload and deliverables in line with agreed timelines
- Identify risks and issues, escalating where appropriate with proposed mitigations
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress and outcomes
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Strong experience in Power BI (3+ years), including advanced data modelling, performance optimisation, and management of reusable datasets
- Proven ability to integrate multiple data sources (e.g. SQL, APIs, SharePoint) and apply appropriate connection strategies in an enterprise environment
- Experience working across multiple business functions, ideally including Commercial and Supply Chain
- Experience of requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Strong DAX and Power BI data modelling expertise
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear and structured documentation
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Good understanding of business process improvement methodologies
Desirable
- Knowledge of data structures, data warehousing, or SQL
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
- Experience working with data generated from complex enterprise systems (e.g. SAP)
- Exposure to data visualisation best practices (UX/UI for dashboards)
