working along side a sole trader as a Garden Labourer and playing a vital role in maintaining beautiful, healthy outdoor spaces! This energetic position involves hands-on work in garden and landscape environments, ensuring plants, lawns, and outdoor features are thriving. You’ll be actively involved in planting, watering, pruning, and general upkeep, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and health of our gardens. Responsibilities
- Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other greenery using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues when needed.
- Perform routine garden maintenance including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning plants, and removing weeds.
- Operate equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct minor repairs on gardening equipment and power tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Support animal care activities if applicable, including cleaning enclosures or assisting with outdoor pet areas.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks such as moving soil bags, mulch, or plant containers to support landscaping projects.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools and machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
Requirements

Prior experience or interest in horticulture or gardening is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key!
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and mechanical understanding of garden equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measuring soil quantities or setting irrigation timers accurately.
- Good animal care awareness if working around outdoor animals or pets.
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment repair or troubleshooting minor issues with machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to garden maintenance tasks.
