Job Title: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist/Specialist Mental Health Services

Package includes: Protected SPA time; Paid Study leave; Peer Network support; No on call requirement; Hybrid working models available

Locations: Cambian Merida- Newmarket, Cambian Meeko House & Cambian Willows – Wisbech

The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Our Specialist Mental Health Services provide residential placements for children and young people aged 11-12 who are experiencing or have experienced significant mental health challenges, including self-harming behaviours. Registered with Ofsted, our services offer integrated care, clinical, and education support. We work collaboratively across teams to create child-focused plans that support recovery, build resilience, and promote reintegration into everyday life following periods of poor mental health.

We have an excellent full-time/Part time opportunity if you are interested, to work across Cambian Specialist Mental Health Residential Services as a Consultant Psychiatrist. In this role, you'll provide regular psychiatry clinic to the homes to support the psychiatric reviews of the young people. The role also involves close collaborative working with other members of the MDT, which includes, education, operational care staff team, psychology, Occupational therapy and the Practice Nurse.

You will contribute to, and influence the implementation of our therapeutic framework (STEP/Sensory & Supportive, Totally inclusive, Enabling, Progressive), including our trauma informed & trauma responsive Clinical Model.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you must be able to show initiative, demonstrating clear decision making and leadership skills.

Requirements

MRCPsych
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or equivalent
Full General Medical Council registration
Be on the Specialist Register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Approved Clinician status (Section 12, Mental Health Act)
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in busy environment
Able to evidence good multi-disciplinary team working while working as the only psychiatric practitioner on site
Driving License and/or the ability to travel between sites

Successful candidates will need to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post.
