Established in 1986, Climate Autogates is one of the most experienced and reputable automated gate specialists in the East of England. From our workshop and showroom just south of Cambridge, we design, hand-craft, and install high-quality bespoke metal gates, alongside manufacturing a growing range of standard products for our online shop.
We take immense pride in our craftsmanship and engineering standards. We are looking for a versatile Fabricator / Gate Maker who is equally comfortable in the workshop and out on-site to join our close-knit team.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
Bespoke Fabrication: Manufacture high-quality metal gates, railings, infill panels, and structural frameworks from workshop drawings.
Online Shop Production: Weld and fabricate batch-produced, standard metal products and accessories for our online store.
Prep & Machining: Accurately measure, cut, prep, and tack-weld mild steel components using bandsaws, grinders, and ironworkers.
On-Site Installation & Groundworks: Regularly head out on-site to assist with installations, meaning you must be prepared to get stuck into physical tasks like groundworks, digging, and preparing foundations for gate posts and automation systems.
What We Are Looking For
Proven Metalwork Experience: A solid background in metal fabrication, specifically manufacturing gates, railings. Someone thats is will to assist with groundworks and learn about gate automation.
On-Site Capability: Willingness and physical fitness to regularly work outdoors on construction/installation sites, assisting with groundworks and heavy lifting.
Independent Drawing Literacy: The ability to confidently read and interpret architectural and fabrication drawings.
Reliable Transport & Driving License: Our workshop is based at Sawston Park, so having your own transport is essential. A full UK driving license is highly beneficial for site travel.
