This role has now developed to two clients one based in North Cambridge and the other in Peterbourough. 2 x 4 hour sessions on Wednesday and Friday with client 1 and then 2 x 5 hours on Tuesday and Thursday (TBC) with Client 2.
Thompson Holistic Care Services (THCS) is a domiciliary care agency based in London, whose mission is supporting Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors across the UK. THCS specialises in supporting clients with histories of non-engagement - whether due to breakdowns in professional and personal relationships - through highly-responsive, client-centered support packages.
At THCS, we support adults living with enduring, complex brain injuries and support needs to live more safely and independently in their own homes and communities. With the high-quality continuity of support provided by our rehabilitation support workers, we work with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) such as case managers, social workers, neurologists, psychologists, and therapists to carry out evidence-based rehabilitation programs.

We recruit specifically and to permanent roles, providing highly-trained and experienced rehabilitation support workers to find the right ‘match’ for our clients - most of our support workers have been working closely with us for more than four years. We are currently recruiting a male or female rehabilitation support worker to work with our ABI/TBI client in CB24 (Client 1) and PE2 (Client 2)
Client would like a female support workers. A driver is highly preferred as public transport is a bit limited.
Support is required for the following activities:- Implement memory strategies such as diaries, phone reminders, written checklists, and repetition.
- Support attention and concentration tasks using distraction reduction, timed activity blocks, and structured breaks.
- Help monitor fatigue, and cue rest breaks.
- Support safe community access following MDT mobility guidance (pacing, rest, confidence building).
- Assist with planning and completing outings such as shopping, errands, school-related responsibilities, and appointments.
- Promote MDT-recommended tasks
- Provide calm, consistent reassurance during periods of overload, cognitive fatigue, or emotional instability.
- Support engagement in meaningful hobbies, community activities, or social opportunities.
- Provide feedback to MDT regarding progress, concerns, and any emerging issues.
- Keep session records . No personal care is required.
Our clients require a rehabilitation support worker for 18-20 hours weekly split into 4-5 hour support sessions Tuesday - Friday 10am-2pm, paying £16.00 per hour. Candidates seeking sponsorship need not apply. Being a driver is definitely preffered for the role (All travel paid inclusive of travel to and from work)
The ideal rehabilitation support worker should be a resilient, reliable, and experienced ABI/TBI support worker who demonstrates a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, quickly builds and maintains positive working relationships, and works calmly and effectively in challenging environments.
