Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Laboratory Analyst to assist in soil and plant analyses. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting precise analyses, supporting quality control processes, and ensuring compliance with methodologies and regulatory standards such as UKAS. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for scientific research and laboratory work to contribute to vital projects within a dynamic environment. The position is suitable for applicants with relevant laboratory experience or those eager to develop their skills in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed chemical, biological, or physical analyses using standard laboratory techniques and equipment such as ICP and wet chemistry with Gallery
Support quality control procedures by verifying sample integrity and data accuracy
Maintain and operate Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to record, track, and manage data efficiently
Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions following strict safety and procedural guidelines
Document all procedures, observations, and results accurately in accordance with regulatory requirements
Assist in method development, validation, and troubleshooting of analytical procedures
Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance
Analyse data using appropriate mathematical techniques to interpret results reliably

Qualifications

Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industries with experience of operating ICP or wet chemistry for soil analysis.
Strong understanding of scientific research principles and quality control processes
Proficiency in using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data entry and management
Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
Knowledge of FDA regulations pertinent to laboratory operations and documentation standards
Solid mathematical skills for data analysis and interpretation
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific disciplines are highly desirable
