To manufacture, assemble, and process high-quality gazebo frames in a safe and efficient manner. As a key member of a UK-based manufacturing team, the Warehouse Metal Fabricator is responsible for the end-to-end physical production of metal components, assisting in warehouse logistics, supporting dispatch, and contributing to the development of new products.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
1. Metal Fabrication & Production
Measurement & Preparation: Accurately measure raw metal materials according product specifications.
Fabrication: Safely operate machinery and hand tools to cut, drill, and shape metal components.
Assembly: Construct heavy-duty gazebo frames, ensuring joints, fittings, and structures meet the company’s strict quality control standards.
General Production: Assist across the factory floor as required to meet daily production targets and manufacturing deadlines.
2. Warehouse & Logistics
Material Handling: Operate a forklift safely to unload raw materials, organize warehouse stock, and move heavy components to the production line.
Dispatch Support: Pick, pack, and prepare finished gazebo frames and accessories for safe transit and dispatch to customers.
Inventory Management: Report low stock levels of raw materials, fixings, and general workshop supplies to management.
3. Product Development
Prototyping: Work closely with management and the wider team to build, adjust, and test prototypes for new gazebo designs or product improvements.
Feedback: Provide practical, hands-on feedback regarding the feasibility and durability of new designs.
4. Health & Safety
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace at all times.
Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, particularly when using power tools, cutting equipment, and operating the forklift.
Person Specification
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven hands-on experience in metalwork, fabrication, or a similar manufacturing environment.
Competence in using measuring tools, drills, saws, and general hand/power tools.
Valid Forklift license, or a willingness to undergo training.
Basic math skills for accurate measuring and cutting.
