The Rose is a hotel, restaurant & bar in the heart of Deal, on the East Kent Coast, that opened in 2018.
Since then The Rose has become something of an institution in the area, continuing to draw locals and visitors alike and gaining attention from press and influencers. It continues to strive for impeccable standards of service and, with Nuno Mendes, as Executive Chef aims for the highest quality of food, wine and cocktails.
Our bar is a huge part of our Rose experience. We pride ourselves on our classic and seasonal cocktails and our finely curated wine list. We're now looking for someone to take the lead on our bar operation. Someone who shares our passion to create a world-class drinks list; deliver exceptional bar service to our customers and to inspire, manage and grow our team.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bartending, cocktails, creating cocktail menus and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills while maintaining a vibrant atmosphere. As a Senior Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, managing bar operations, and leading a team of bartenders to ensure an outstanding experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including the proper storage of all supplies and equipment.
- Supervise and train junior bartenders, providing guidance on techniques, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible serving practices.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed and minimising waste.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to create drink pairings that complement menu offerings.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and assist in end-of-shift reconciliation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bartending within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and inventory management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- A passion for mixology and staying updated on industry trends is highly desirable.
