Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Reception Manager to join our Front Office team at Lanelay Hall Hotel & tRiBe Spa. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, 5-day working week). You will be required to cover a combination of the following shifts:
- 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 09:30 AM – 05:30 PM
- Additionally, you will be required to cover night shifts (10:00 PM – 07:00 AM) during staff holidays.
Lanelay Hall Hotel & tRiBe Spa is a luxury hotel and spa in South Wales, having undergone extensive renovations in 2017. Located in Pontyclun, just a short distance from Cardiff, our property features 19 beautifully designed bedrooms, a busy restaurant, a bar, fantastic function suites, and our renowned tRiBe Spa. As an Assistant Reception Manager, you will work under the general guidance of the Front of House Manager, assisting in all Front Office operations, including supervising the Reception and Nights teams. Your role will be to ensure that every guest enjoys a seamless, relaxing, and unforgettable experience.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the Front Office team, ensuring smooth daily operations and a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Conduct department meetings, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Handle guest problems and complaints, following business procedures and aiming to resolve written complaints efficiently.
- Implement and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Manage the Front Office department in the absence of the Front of House Manager.
Person Specification: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a hotel reception, front office, or similar role.
- Strong administration and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written) with a high standard of spoken and written English.
- Strong adaptability skills to meet guest, team, and business expectations.
- Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Friendly and professional telephone manner.
Desirable (Full Training Provided):
- Experience using computerised booking & payment systems such as Guestline PMS, Resdiary, and Trybe Spa Reservation System.
- Experience in coaching and training teams.
