Due to ongoing company growth, we are seeking an experienced Blender to join our production team at Mallows Bottling. Founded in 2021, Mallows Beverages has fast become a key player in the UK spirits and soft drinks scene, with over 30 product and business awards to its name. Our contract bottling production facility is situated in Coedely, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Here we create our brands as well as contract bottling for customers from across the UK - we are a BRCGS AA site.

THE ROLE:
Within this role you will be responsible for the preparation and blending of bulk liquids, using company approved standard operating procedures, whilst abiding with all relevant company policies for health & safety, food safety, hygiene and quality to ensure that these products comply with the agreed specification and are prepared in time to satisfy the production programme.
This job role will be shift pattern led, either working 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE COMPETENCIES:
- To blend wet materials to specific bulk liquids adhering to specifications and recipe instructions.
- To ensure specification sheet is always followed.
- To ensure all blending is conducted in accordance with the company hygiene and health & safety requirements.
- To undertake cleaning of tanks and IBCs in line with procedures to ensure hygiene standards are kept compliant.
- To participate in line equipment changes as required.
- To ensure that materials are effectively used, and wastage is maintained within permitted levels.
- To ensure that the blending equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- To follow any reasonable management instruction.
- To be aware at all times of the company health and safety policy.
- To ensure all processes are conducted in accordance with company hygiene requirements and the work area is clean and tidy.
- To highlight any consumable shortages to avoid unnecessary downtime.
- To ensure daily production programme is completed in the most efficient way or priority order and react to any changes in the programme.
- To ensure maximum effective utilisation of machinery and run machinery at the correct speed levels.
- To ensure production administration procedures are properly and accurately completed within the requisite timescales that may involve use of SAP.
- To ensure that all tasks are done with the minimum product loss.
- To manually handle bags and containers up to 25kg and manually roll empty and full casks, adhering to company health and safety.
- To ensure specification sheet and SOP are always followed.
- To assist in the training of other colleagues.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
- Applicants with accredited forklift license will be considered as a priority, but is not essential to application.
- Self-motivated, dedicated, resourceful, adaptable and flexible.
- Team player with good communication.
- Be able to work independently with confidence.
- Ability to freely contribute to continuous improvement and suggestions.
- Punctual.
- GCSE Level or equivalent education.
- Possess a good level of literacy and numeracy.
- Desire to undertake ongoing training.
