About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded Junior Technical Services Engineer to join our growing Technical Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who wants to develop into a fully competent Technical Services Engineer through a structured 12‑month CPD development programme.
You will support the delivery of technical advice, drawing interpretation, product/application guidance, and customer technical support across the business. This role is ideal for someone with an engineering qualification and exposure to structural engineering, civil engineering, construction, or a related technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction details
- Assist with technical calculations and product/application queries
- Support the preparation and amendment of CAD drawings and technical documentation
- Liaise with sales, manufacturing, design, and project teams to support customer requirements
- Help resolve technical issues and respond to enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Maintain accurate technical records and documentation
- Build strong technical product knowledge through structured training
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the Technical Services function
- Complete all development objectives within the 12‑month CPD programme
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally HNC/HND in Engineering, Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering (or relevant experience) but not essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering or construction drawings
- Exposure to structural, civil, construction, or manufacturing technical environments
- CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar)
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, willing‑to‑learn attitude
Desirable
- Experience in a technical support or technical services role
- Understanding of building products or construction systems
- Knowledge of engineering standards/specifications
- Experience working with customers or project teams
