If you’re passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive student community, we have a fantastic opportunity to become a Res Life Student Ambassador to support the delivery of activities and events within our halls of residence.
Working alongside the Student Transition Coordinator and fellow ambassadors, you will help plan, promote and deliver a range of social activities to enhance the student experience in halls. You will play an important role in helping new students settle into university life, build friendships and engage with the university community.
The role includes supporting ‘Welcome Week’ activities and facilitating evening and weekend events throughout the academic year.
As our Res Life Student Ambassador, you’ll also
Promote Res Life events within Halls via posters/social media etc.
Work collaboratively with the other Res Life Ambassadors and the Student Transition Coordinator, meeting regularly to organise and plan events.
Help students settle into halls and make friends.
Assist in obtaining feedback via QR codes and questionnaires as part of the events.
Be proactive in consulting students in your halls about ideas for events and using their input to decide on future events.
What you’ll bring
As a current Cardiff Metropolitan University student residing (or due to reside) in Cyncoed or Plas Gwyn halls of residence, you’ll use your strong communication skills, confidence and empathy to help create engaging events and a supportive environment for students and guests.
You’ll bring a positive, approachable attitude alongside strong organisational skills, enabling you to coordinate activities effectively, adapt to changing needs and respond to challenges with calmness and professionalism.
Additionally, you’ll:
Have an understanding of responsibilities related to organising and coordinating events.
Be able to effectively organise and encourage participation in events.
Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
Be confident and show ability in using social media as a marketing tool.
