Nursery Assistant

Type: Contract
Location: Cardiff
Start date: ASAP
Hours: 8am-6pm (rota basis)
Pay: £12.21-13.70 per hour

Are you passionate about working with young children and making a real difference in their early development? Elementa is working in partnership with a nurturing and welcoming nursery setting to recruit enthusiastic Nursery Assistants who are ready to support children during their most important learning years.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced childcare professionals who are caring, reliable, and committed to creating safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environments.

About the Role

As a Nursery Assistant, you will:

Support children’s learning, play, and development in line with the EYFS framework
Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
Work collaboratively with nursery staff to meet the individual needs of each child
Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, candidates must have:

Previous experience working with children (nursery or school-based experience essential)
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration in the appropriate category

Desirable qualifications:

CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent childcare qualification)

Recruitment & Safeguarding Information

All applications will be managed by Elementa as the recruitment partner for this client. Elementa is committed to the safeguarding of children in all of their processes and all successful applicants will have a full pre-screen to assess their suitability for the role.

Any appointment will be subject to:

A successful interview process
Satisfactory references
Safeguarding & Prevent training
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration in the appropriate categories
DBS Enhanced Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20 unless you have a DBS subscribed to the Update Service)
Successful completion of a 12-week / 60 paid day employment trial period
