An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to work as an Administration Assistant in our North Cumbria Inpatient Services.
You will be the first point of contact working on reception in a ward environment, providing administrative support directly to the ward multidisciplinary team and supporting across all wards when required.
This role provides a comprehensive administrative support to the service, working Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5pm. Proven experience of working in similar work environment is an advantage.
The post holder will be able to evidence:
Experience of front-facing reception duties.
Experience of call handling in a busy environment - It is critical that excellent customer service is delivered in person or over the telephone.
Good organisational skills.
Be able to prioritise a fluctuating workload.
Proven experience of working with Microsoft Office packages.
Diary management skills to coordinate room bookings.
Provides agreed levels of support to the service to maintain cover in the absence of other administrative staff.
Desirable: A working knowledge of electronic patient record systems (i.e. RiO)
The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate in all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
The post holder may also undertake additional duties as directed by the Administration Manager.

- Accurate typing skills - typing letters/reports
- Diary management including room allocations
- Working from shared inbox
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft packages i.e Outlook and Word
- Ordering stock
- Issuing and maintaining security equipment i.e. Key cards, SAS alarms, and using a variety of systems that are part of the security processes at the Clinical Business Unit.
