Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is currently looking to recruit several full time Plumbers (40 hours per week), on a permanent basis, working across Cumbria, based from our Workington office.
If you are looking for an exciting new role, this is a great opportunity to join the CCHA Team.
We recruit not just on existing skills and experience, but just as importantly on potential and attitude. We encourage applications even if you don’t feel you meet all of the essential criteria in the job pack.
The impact you will have as a Plumber:
As an experienced plumber, you will be part of a professional and customer focused team and will have responsibility for providing an efficient and effective service to all our customers. You will be carrying out works that take place in peoples homes. This could be in a responsive repairs setting, in an Empty Homes setting or even in a Planned maintenance and upgrade setting.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be the primary conduit for any plumbing maintenance work in residents' homes. This could be remedial fixes as well as planned maintenance fixes. There will also be a number of maintenance and repairs tasks required, as well as fire safety works as directed.
We strive to have a first-time fix attitude, with keeping the ideal of everyone having a safe home.
A little about you:
-
We’re looking for someone who has experience of working in a domestic setting, with residents’ living in the homes that you work in.
-
You must hold at least an NVQ 2 in plumbing, ideally with a level 3 – or equivalent qualification.
-
Someone who is able to respond positively to emergency job requests.
-
You should be confident working independently, self-managing tasks on each repairs job and able to record the outputs of your work upon completion of each job.
-
It would be advantageous if you have any experience or exposure to a social housing setting.
-
If you have experience of planning and scheduling resources to conduct repairs and maintenance activities, that would be ideal.
