We're looking for a confident, hands-on HR & Training Advisor to become a visible and embedded part of our business. This is not a desk-based HR role you'll be on the ground, working alongside managers, influencing day-to-day decisions, and raising the standard of people management across the organisation.
You'll combine practical HR advisory work with ownership of training and development, playing a key role in improving onboarding, strengthening line management capability, and supporting employees throughout the full lifecycle.
Working closely with an experienced external HR Consultant / Fractional HR Director, you'll be supported, mentored, and developed with a clear pathway to step into a more senior HR role as the business grows.

Act as the go-to HR contact for managers and employees, providing clear, practical advice

Support and lead on performance, conduct, absence, and welfare cases

Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes

Handle long-term sickness and complex employee situations

Escalate higher-risk cases while building your own capability

Coach and guide managers on handling people issues confidently

Support difficult conversations and decision-making

Help build a stronger, more accountable management culture

Contribute to practical tools, templates, and guidance

Improve and oversee onboarding across office staff and Security Officers

Ensure strong, consistent induction experiences from day one

Support probation processes and early intervention check-ins

Take ownership of vetting and screening processes (including compliance requirements)

Deliver and manage the company's training plan

Identify skills gaps and support development planning

Design and deliver in-house training (HR, management, behaviours, onboarding)

Support apprentices and liaise with training providers

Maintain accurate training records and reporting

Support the running of the accredited training centre

Take on Internal Verification (IV) responsibilities over time

Maintain awarding body relationships and audit readiness

Contribute to course quality and continuous improvement

Maintain and update HR policies in line with UK employment law

Support compliance and best practice across the business

Produce HR data and insights (absence, turnover, ER, training)

Support wider people projects and continuous improvement

Minimum 3 years' HR generalist experience (Advisor level or similar)

Strong working knowledge of UK employment law

Confident handling employee relations and casework

Comfortable delivering training and coaching managers

Able to build trust while also challenging when needed

Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and organisational skills

CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent experience

Experience delivering onboarding or management training

Exposure to investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes

Knowledge of training centre operations or accreditation (IV/IQA)

Experience in operational sectors (security, FM, logistics, construction, etc.)

L&D or training qualification
-
IQA qualification (or willingness to obtain)
