Job Title: Vet Nurse (RCVS registered)
Location: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4.00 PM, part / full time, days to be confirmed
We are looking for a Vet Nurse who understands the realities of rescue work, not just clinical tasks, but the pace, unpredictability, and purpose behind what we do.
Ideally, you will bring dental experience, but more importantly, you will bring the right mindset: calm under pressure, organised, and willing to step into a role that blends clinical work with operational responsibility.
The Role:
A busy on site veterinary surgery supporting a large animal rescue.
You will be involved in:
- Day to day veterinary nursing duties
- Supporting routine procedures (including dentals where trained)
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and paperwork
- Supporting medication management and compliance processes
- Assisting with clinical standards and organisation of the surgery
- Working alongside the Practice Manager to support the smooth running of the veterinary function
This role goes beyond “doing the job”, you will play a key part in keeping the clinical side of the rescue structured, compliant, and effective.
What We’re Looking For:
- RCVS registered Vet Nurse (essential)
- Dental experience (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and paperwork accuracy
- Confident with clinical processes, protocols, and compliance
- Able to work in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment
- Comfortable working as part of a small, practical team
- Good IT skills (clinical records, basic systems)
- A genuine understanding of animal rescue work, this is not a role for someone expecting a quiet, routine practice
The Right Person:
This role suits someone who:
- Takes pride in doing things properly, not just quickly
- Can bring structure and organisation into a busy environment
- Is proactive and willing to support beyond the basics
- Understands that rescue work can be emotionally and physically demanding
- Wants to be part of something that genuinely makes a difference
Why This Role Matters:
You won’t just be another nurse in a practice.
You will be part of a team working with dogs that many others won’t take, supporting their treatment, recovery, and future.
Your work will directly impact welfare, outcomes, and the standards we operate to every single day.
If you are looking for an easy role, this isn’t it. If you are looking for a meaningful one, it might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
